Do you compare yourself?
Growing up, I resented my little sister so much, not because of anything she did, but because I felt my parents loved her more than they loved me. She was the pretty one. She was the smart one. She was the funny one. She was the one who could never do anything wrong, and who often got away with murder… Why am I sharing this with you? I’m sharing this, because I want to talk about comparison for a second. I believe that comparison is the thief of joy and compassion, and yet, I too (very hypocritically) compare myself to others. And my question is this: Where in your life did you learn to compare yourself?
